19 Jun Where to find the best fashion bargains in Milan
Enjoy shopping in Milan, all with the comfort of travel insurance
For today’s Sherpa Diary post we’re putting on our glad rags here at Coverontrip travel insurance and heading to one of the fashion capitals of the world, Milan. Long considered the most important city for fashion in the world, Milan hosts the twice yearly Milan Fashion Week, which is one of the “big four fashion weeks” alongside London, New York and Paris. And of course the city is packed full of designers, exclusive shops and boutiques. It’s little surprise then that Milan has long been a favourite destination for shoppers the world over.
Within this glamorous metropolis you can find all the big brands of haute couture, fashion and footwear such as Armani, Prada, Chanel, Gucci and Dior. All these world famous brands and more are to be found in an area of Milan that’s known as the Fashion Quadrilateral, which are the four streets of Via Montenapoleone, Via della Spiga, Via Manzoni and Corso Venezia.
In addition to inspiring designers from all over the world, Milan is an effervescent and magnetic city where history and the avant-garde of fashion complement each other perfectly.
Fashion lovers… Milan awaits you!
The most exclusive stores are of course worth a visit, but if you’re anything like us, then you’re probably eager to find the best budget fashion stores in Milan. So to help you find the best bargains, we’ve put together this guide of where to find the best outlet discount fashion shops in Milan:
This is one of the best known discount clothing shops in Milan. Here you’ll find clothing, accessories and shoes at discounts of up to 70%. It offers a unique collection of high-end pieces at unbelievable prices. So if you’re going to Milan to shop, make this one of your first stops. You can find it at Via Fratelli Bronzetti, 16.
If you go to DMagazine (or DMag for short) on Via Montenapoleone, 26, then you’ll think the doors of fashion haven have been opened before your eyes. This small store sells high quality garments at unbeatable prices and is considered a bit of an institution in Milan. So don’t be surprised if you come across the likes of Prada, Balenciaga or Chloé when browsing the racks here.

Travel insurance for Milan
If you plan on travelling to Milan for a spot of shopping, of for anything else, then remember the importance of travel insurance. You may think that the EHIC card will cover you for any trip within the EU, but the EHIC only provides cover for medical treatment, up to the same standard of the public healthcare system of the country you are in. And in Italy, public healthcare is not always free like it is with the NHS, with things such as visits to specialists and non-emergency A&E visits being chargeable.
Also, remember that the EHIC card only covers medical treatment, so does not provide the additional extras that come with a comprehensive travel insurance policy. These are just some of the additional sections of cover that are provided as standard with Coverontrip travel insurance:
- Medical repatriation back to the UK, should you fall ill abroad and need to be returned home
- Trip cancellation cover, for example, if you or someone else named on the policy suffers an injury or illness before the trip
- Cover for baggage and money in case of loss or theft whilst on holiday
- Cover if your baggage is delayed in transit
- Cover for emergency dental treatment
